Sonia Todd in The worst kept secrets.
On stage from November 18 till November 22 2014.
The Worst Kept Secrets, written and directed by emerging talent Thomas De Angelis.
Sonia Todd has worked extensively in Australian theatre, television and film. “It's great to be back on stage and to work with my husband Rhett Walton,” said Todd. The couple plays opposite each other as Ex-Premier of NSW, George Steeper (Walton) and his wife Annie (Todd). On the surface, they are the power couple with it all: a 29 year old marriage, two handsome sons and résumés glistening with achievements. What the public don’t know is that their relationship is as malignant as a tumour, and that secretly George is sleeping with his son’s girlfriend. George and Annie have endured each other for so long only because it made George electable and Annie popular. So when George is offered a chance to start afresh, he must come clean with the secrets he’s been keeping so poorly. Todd and Walton find playing these characters an intriguing contrast to their own relationship, “We're enjoying working together and bringing these two entertaining characters to life, as well as having a few laughs," Todd said. As a seasoned actor, she is relishing working with young playwright and director Thomas De Angelis. “One of the most rewarding aspects of the play is the opportunity to be involved in a new work that is so well written and topical. I think the audiences will enjoy it immensely". -
