Especially from the Australian series McLeod's Daughters actress Rachael Carpani known has a new project in the United States: For Life Time, she plays the main role of a policewoman in Against the Wall.

In the pilot episode, "Against the Wall" by Lifetime takes over the main actress, the central role of the police officer Abby Kowalski, who has the authority authority connected. Your entry in the unpopular police force drives a wedge between her and her three brothers that also work with the police.

Rachael Carpani ("The Glades," "NCIS: Los Angeles"), Treat Williams ("127 Hours," "Everwood") and Emmy® and Golden Globe® Award winner Kathy Baker ("Picket Fences," "Medium") star in "Against the Wall," the compelling, new one-hour drama premiering on Lifetime Television, Sunday, July 31, at 10pm et/9c.

 

"Against the Wall" follows the trials and tribulations of Abby Kowalski (Carpani), a single Chicago police officer who finally scores her dream job as a detective; but it turns out a nightmare for her close knit family of cops. As the newest hire in the department’s Internal Affairs division, Abby suddenly finds herself at odds with her fellow officers, including her father and three brothers. She must now figure out how she can pursue her dream of being a detective while keeping her family intact. Williams and Baker star as Abby’s parents Don and Sheila. Rounding out the cast as her brothers are Brandon Quinn ("Entourage") as Richie, Steve Byers ("Smallville") as Steve and James Thomas (Covert Affairs) as Donnie. Additionally, Marisa Ramirez ("Spartacus: Gods of the Arena") stars as Abby’s partner Lina Flores, Daniel Kash ("The Dresden Files") is her boss Lieutenant Papadol, Andrew Walker ("Maybe It’s Me") plays Richie’s partner Brody, Mayko Nguyen (Lifetime’s "Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy") is Abby’s neighbor Mackie Phan and Chris Johnson ("The Vampire Diaries") appears as Danny Mitchell, a lawyer and old friend of Abby’s.

 

Nancy Miller ("Saving Grace," "Any Day Now") is executive producer of "Against the Wall" from Universal Cable Productions, with writer/creator Annie Brunner ("Saving Grace," "Huff") serving as supervising producer. Lifetime has ordered 13 hour-long episodes of "Against the Wall."

Rachael Carpani is best known for her role as "Jodi Fountain" in the Australian television series "McLeod's Daughters," for which she was nominated for TV Week's Logie Awards for both a "Silver Logie – Most Popular Actress" and the "Gold Logie – Most Popular Personality on Television." Carpani also appeared in the feature films "Hating Alison Ashley" and the British film "Triangle," starring Treat Williams George and Liam Hemsworth.

Treat Williams has been working as an actor for over 30 years. He began his career in musical comedy on Broadway as an understudy in Grease, eventually taking over the lead role of "Danny Zuko." Williams' first important film role was "Berger" in Hair. His other films have included The Ritz, The Eagle Has Landed, Prince of the City, 1941, Smooth Talk, which won first prize at the Sundance Film Festival, Once Upon a Time in America, Woody Allen's Hollywood Ending, Deep Rising, Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead, The Phantom, The Deep End of the Ocean, The Devil's Own, What Happens in Vegas, Howl, 127 Hours and the soon to be released A Little Bit of Heaven and Blackbird.

Kathy Baker has won three Emmy® Awards, a Golden Globe® Award, and the Screen Actor's Guild Award for her work on the CBS television series "Picket Fences." She also received a 2003 Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress" in the TNT film "Door To Door," which garnered multiple Emmy Awards and an AFI Creative Ensemble Award. Baker was also nominated for back-to-back Emmys for her guest performances on "Touched by an Angel" and "Boston Public."

Marisa Ramirez starred as "Melitta" on the popular Starz series Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. She also starred as "Evelyn Santos" on ABC's critically acclaimed but short-lived series Miracles and as "Dr. Chloe Artis" on the Fox series Mental. Ramirez has made numerous guest starring appearances on shows such as Bones, Rizzoli & Isles, CSI: NY, Castle, Shark, Without a Trace, CSI: Miami and Roswell. Television audiences may also know Ramirez from her role as "Carmen Mesta" in the CBS daytime drama The Young and the Restless and her award-winning work as "Gia Campbell" on ABC's General Hospital.

Brandon Quinn has begun to gain notoriety for his roles on both the big and small screens. He is probably most recognized for his recurring role as "Tom," boyfriend of Rex Lee on the HBO series Entourage. In addition, Quinn most recently guest starred on the CW hit series The Vampire Diaries.

Best known for her characters of “Goth Girl” in Rent-A-Goalie and “Mayko Tran” in Regenesis (for which she received Gemini and Actra Award nominations), Mayko Nguyen’s most recent television credits include a recurring role on the ABC series Rookie Blue, as well as guest spots on shows such as Being Erica, Republic of Doyle and The Listener.

Steve Byers has become a noted star on the rise in both his native Canada and abroad. His career began with appearances in a number of MTV series, including a pilot opposite Rachel McAdams. Byers' went on to lead the successful ABC Family series Falcon Beach, prompting a place on People Magazine's "Summer Stars to Watch" alongside Ashton Kutcher. He also starred in the series Wild Roses. After breaking into the American market, he tackled guest spots on CSI: Miami and was cast as the arch villain to Superman on the hit series Smallville.
