Susan Shapiro (Rachael Carpani) are a TV news journalist, worked in Sydney.She has been trying to get to astory about Sydney’s water crisis since months. By midday on Christmas Eve the city is ringed by huge bushfires burning out of control, a state of emergency is declared.
She tries to get some information by the Premier Angela Boardman (Georgie Parker), and she contact to the state operations commander for the National Fire Service (NFS), David Langmore (Cameron Daddo). If she gets nowhere the answers, she seeks,  Susan goes with her collegue and camera man in the middle of the proceedings, undergoes the effects of the fire and overcomes a explosion in a hospital. Some times later she got a video from the secretary of the Premier via e-mail. It's succeeds, this send to David Langmore just in time, before she on a next explosion with poison gases lost her life.
