Simmone Jade Mackinnon was born at the 19.3.1973 in Mount Isa, Queensland. She grew up with her sisters and brothers Kym and Robbie.

Simmone trained to be a professional dancer and toured with the Andrew Lloyd Webber Musical “Cats”. After she was hurt her career as dancer ended.

Simmone successfully changed into the acting business. In 1996 it was just the character as assistant of a doctor in “Dating the Enemy”, but in 1998 and 1999 bigger episode characters followed in series like “Water Rats” and “All Saints”.

1998 Simmone played in a special of the US series “Baywatch”. The character in the Australia special grew up to a main character in the series “Baywatch Hawaii.

2001 a main character in the miniseries Attila followed for Simmone. There were more and more characters to play for Simmone and at the end she builds up her career in the USA. In Australia they were looking for an actress to play a new main character in the series McLeod´s Daughters, Aaron Jeffery´s former wife Melinda Medich was one of the ways Simmone heard about that fact. So in 2003 Simmone was Stevie Hall in that series and she was back in Australia.

Jason Mamoa put her in the point of view of an exhibition called „Brown Bag Diaries: My Obsession with Simmone Jade Mackinnon”. That was in the year 2003.

Simmone stand in contact with acting in America in all the time. She played in films like “Dominique’s Game“ with Corbin Bensen, maybe you know him from LA Law.

In 2006 Simmone acted as Dominique in Submission. She played in “Spellbinder Land of The Dragon Lord“ one year later.

She is one of the moderators from the show "Random Act of Kindness".

In 2009 Simmone is nominated for the Silver Logie Award as Best Actress and the Golden Logie Award. 

In 2010 she acted at the series City Homicide.

In 2012 she played a character called Zoe Alexander at the series Neighbours. She could be seen in that series for three weeks.

Her son Madigan James Mackinnon was born on March 19, 2010.

Simmone has two dogs and some more animals. Her hobbies were horse riding and climbing.

Simmone supported the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, short form RSPCA.
